R-Strap Review

0

For any photographers out there looking to buy some accessories for their camera or if you’re looking for a great gift to get a photographer, take a look at the R-Strap.  The R-Strap replaces your camera’s clunky default strap with a shoulder sling that attaches to the bottom of your camera.  There is better weight distribution across the shoulder and allows easy access to your camera that now hangs from your hip.  I’ve had the RS-7 strap sitting in my Amazon wishlist for awhile but my wonderful girlfriend got it for me for Christmas!  It comes in very handy when needing to handle two cameras as I found out shooting a wedding this past weekend.  It was very easy to switch cameras during the day and having easy access to my primary camera on a moments notice was great.  Black Rapid, who manufacture’s the R-Strap, has a ton of accessories as well such as attachment points to stabilize weight distribution and hold extra memory cards.  The RS-7 strap is priced at $60 on Amazon.  For more info, please visit the Black Rapid website HERE.

Who Inspires Me… Craig McDean

0

During a recent shopping outing with the girlfriend, we stopped by Anthropologie where I found a book titled Another Portrait Book which was a collection of portraits from various photographers.  The photos that stuck out the most to me were all shot by Craig McDean who is a renowned fashion and portrait photographer currently based in New York.

His work is beautiful and something to strive for.  If you’re interested to see more of his work, go HERE.

2011 Color of the Year

0

Given that it is the first day of 2011, its time to check in with Pantone to see what the new color of the year is…

Courageous. Confident. Vital. A brave new color, for a brave new world. Let the bold spirit of Honeysuckle infuse you, lift you and carry you through the year. It’s a color for every day – with nothing “everyday” about it.

Goodbye 2010, Hello 2011

0

2010 has been a blast and I am looking forward to another full year of shooting in 2011.  I collaborated with a lot of wonderful people this past year which resulted in some great photos.  I can’t stress enough how nice it is to work with others who are just as passionate as I am.  I also want to thank my dedicated fans who have supported me this past year and have provided me the motivation to be the best that I can be.  Now onto my resolutions for 2011.  Firstly, I don’t blog often; usually it’s only to share new content, but I think I need to make a better attempt at blogging more frequently.  Secondly, I need to try new things and am looking forward to adding some studio work into my portfolio this coming year.  I am slowly building my home studio and hope to have all the pieces I need to get started in the next month.  With that, I wish everyone a Happy New Year!

Topete Family Photo Shoot

I shot with the fun and beautiful Topete family who just recently had a new baby boy!  We found a perfect spot to give the shoot a nice Fall look.  It was forecasted to rain the day of the shoot but things worked out and the sun made an appearance.

Photo Booth Fun!

0

I’ve been quite busy with shoots lately and haven’t been able to spend much time blogging but I wanted to post about a fun event I did this past weekend.  I set up a photo booth with the help of my friend Greg for a birthday party.  It was a real hit and I’m looking forward to trying to do more photo booth events in the future.  If anyone is interested, let me know!
